A furnished studio outside the centre can start near QAR 3,500 a month, while a three-bedroom in a prime tower runs several times that. Furnishing, floor level and view move the figure more than anything else.

Furnished units arrive ready to live in and cost more each month, which suits a short posting. An empty apartment is cheaper over a two-year stay once you have bought the furniture, and part-furnished usually means white goods and wardrobes only.
